In 2017, JR Motorsports Late Model driver Josh Berry will take on the CARS Late Model Stock Car series for the third straight year, hoping to build on his lead in career CARS LMSC victories as well as earn a driver championship to go along with the owner title he won in 2016.
The 2016 season was a successful one for the 26-year-old Tennessee native, as he won 14 times in 24 starts among all starts and amassed 21 top-five finishes in the No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro. Five CARS Late Model Stock Car Series victories in 2016 increased his all-time victory mark in the series. He finished third in overall series points for the regional tour, and won the owner title despite missing one series race.
In addition to dominating the Late Model scene in the Southeast, Berry also made two NASCAR Xfinity Series starts in 2016 for JRM, finishing ninth at Iowa Speedway and 13th at Kentucky Speedway in his 1.5-mile debut. Berry raced in two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events as well. All told, Berry has won 38 Late Model races over the past five seasons for JR Motorsports and earned track championships at Virginia’s Motor Mile Speedway in 2012 and at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway in 2014. He remains the only JRM driver to win multiple championships for the organization.
