ASHEBORO, N.C. – After taking some time off to race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, JR Motorsports late model driver Josh Berry swept Friday night’s 50-lap feature for NASCAR Whelen All-American Series cars at Caraway Speedway in the No. 88 Speedco entry.

Berry qualified first and never trailed in the caution-free 50-lapper, holding off two of the best racers in the region along the way. Tommy Lemons Jr. and Lee Pulliam finished second and third, respectively. It was Berry’s eighth victory of the season and first since July 16 at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway and the ninth of the year for JR Motorsports. It was also his first triumph on the .455-mile oval at Caraway.

JRM teammate Christian Eckes started and finished fourth with the No. 1 entry in a strong field, battling with Lemons and Pulliam the entire distance. He was saving tires for a caution that never came and the second 50-lapper, and likely would have had more rubber left for that one, but rain wiped out that chance.

Berry and Eckes will return to CARS Late Model Stock Tour action this Saturday at Concord (N.C.) Speedway.

Josh Berry, driver No. 88 Speedco Chevrolet team
“Tonight was fun to check another track off the list that I haven't won at. Two of the best were behind us, so they definitely didn't make it easy. I felt like we had the tires left for the second race, but unfortunately it rained us out.  We are looking forward to getting back to the CARS Tour this coming weekend at Concord Speedway.”
